I'm not a perfect driver, I've made my share of mistakes. Sometimes the wrong manoveur or lapse of attention occurs on an empty street, which means that no one is affected by it. On the other hand, if another road user is involved, I make it a point to acknowledge my error while thanking my lucky stars that no damage was done.
Today, the error was committed by the driver of a sparkling clean, blue Mini Cooper - JBP 401. In order to avoid the red lights, he made a split-second, unannounced decision to change direction - a direction which almost took him into me and my Piaggio scooter. It was shocking enough to find myself about to be run down by a driver oblivious to my presence but what really made me livid was his reaction when he realised what he had nearly done. He pulled up alongside, put down the passenger window where his son was sitting and instead of offering an apology, he actually berated me instead!
That's a lovely car you have, sir. Pity about your lack of gentlemanly conduct.
