Finally, my first ever backgammon tournament win and I’m mighty pleased! This is also an improvement on the 4th place obtained in my previous final. On this occasion, all my opponents in the final round had a higher ELO rating than me but I still succeeded in winning 5 out of my 6 games.

The game which elevated me from a potential 2nd to winner was a classic end game. A combination of the right rolls and the right play saw me turn defeat into victory, submerging me in a pure adrenalin rush. To those among you more familiar with football than backgammon, I can explain it this way. At the ninetieth minute I’m losing 1-0. I get the equalizer in extra time and with only seconds on the clock, I score the winner!

Whatever the final result, I’m chuffed to have made it to my first-ever final of an on-line backgammon tournament.

There were 178 competitors in the first round and now I’m in the top 4.

My final position: 4th overall

9th out of 260!

Playing with young women

A full week of playing with young women. What more can a man ask for? Maybe that his girlfriend won’t object to this “hobby”, possibly even being a willing participant? Well, last week was the week when it all happened.

In truth, if I had to wring out the hours spent at work and the time necessary to recharge my energy levels with food and sleep, then I’m left with around 10 hours of hands-on play. Divide that by the number of women spread out on various horizontal surfaces (the kitchen table being the most popular) and I really had about 120 minutes of physical indulgence with each one. However, I’m not complaining!
