And Another Thing

I've read Jeremy Clarkson before so I know exactly what to expect - an irreverent commentary on life around us: politics, environment, celebrities and, of course, cars.

This book is a further collection of articles he used to write on a weekly basis in The Sunday Times newspaper. Since it covers the years 2004 and 2005, some references are dated but I still find his inimitable, in-your-face style entertaining. Do not expect any politically correct articles; I would go as far as to say that he does his utmost to offend. On the other hand, he does come up with some cogent arguments to justify his rants.

Being British, he tends to focus on native personalities and organisations, some of which I had never heard of before. Consequently, I was occasionally unresponsive to his snide remarks.

Especially hilarious is the article, "Found: a cure for binge drinking", with the inevitable stab at the French, and his discussion on the word "fuck" in an opinion piece about swear words, "Custard, my wife's worst swear word".

I'm no petrol head but I sped through his highway of words with my foot clamped to the accelerator.
